Sustainability

For my part of the program, I decided to focus on energy building and energy saving supplies for our made up city.

For my first idea, I decided to think of a way to use the problem of cars and driving to produce energy. I purposed to create some sort of rotating generator that spins to create energy when driven over by a car or bike.  I know this will build energy because of how the generator will be spun each time someone drives over the wheels that are built into the ground. The sustainability will come from the fact everyone will always be driving and using energy, so why not do something about it and use the problem that won't ever be fixed it to our advantage?



This would be what my road would look like, or similar to it. These are actually being pushed down but the concept is completely the same. The bars would be spun instead of pushed down.  With each spin, there would be a battery or generator charged based on how fast the car would be going.

This is how the bars in the above photo are being used which could also be used for my city's roads.

Also, there will be solar panels in our roadways as well.  The solar panels will be able to be driven over and will have energy produced because of the sun beating down on them at all times throughout the day.



This is something that would be similar to what I would want to install into our roads around the city. These would be in addition to our roads that are using the generators

These ideas would be helpful to humans because of how much energy is wasted through driving our cars.  We use our cars more than any other type of transportation when it comes to getting from point A to point B.  We spend so much energy doing this without saving any of the unwanted energy.  The energy that was wasted from driving would be put back into the human environment through these generators.  We would save so much on energy costs because of the fact driving is just not going to ever go away.

When it comes to Apps, we could invent an App that would be used to display how fast your car is going and how much energy is being produced with how fast your car is going.
